The annual Universal City North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Installation Reception installed not only the new Chamber of Commerce President, but also its new Board of Directors. In 2012, the Chamber installed Kirk Jaffe, as President. The event also honored businesses and organizations that are making a difference in the Universal City North Hollywood community. Woodbury University in Burbank for their dedication to good health by hosting the Chamber Health Fair/Fitness Challenge this Fall. The NoHo business Improvement District for their work to improve the NoHo Arts District helping to keep it safe and clean for our business owners and art patrons. The Beverly Garland Holiday Inn for their committment to the Chamber working with the Board and providing meeting space throughout the year. The Los Angeles City Fire Department, Battalion 14, Fire Station 60 in the NoHo Arts District for their Courageous service to our community. To Senior Lead Officer, for the North Hollywood Division, John Catalano with the Los Angeles Police Department for his work with the business owners and the Chamber to keep our community safe.
The Shining Star Award was given to The Federal Bar for their successful first year of operation as a new business in the North Hollywood community and their integration with our community members. The Centennial Award was presented to NBCUniversal for the 100 years that Universal Studios has given to the economic growth of our community.
Both Vic Viereck and Gary Justice were honored for their committment to the Chamber and their service to the Board of Directors. Vic has just completed his second term as President of the Chamber. Gary has served on the Board of Directors for several years. The 2012 Board of Director were installed at TheSheraton Universal Hotel by Alice Roth, standing in for Councilmember Tom La Bonge, who was unable to be with the Chamber that evening. Alice is the Field Director for Councilmember Tom La Bonge, Council District 4. This was the 102nd installation for the Chamber Board of Directors.
